GGood morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .
- A quick note to the schools and churches around here having “Fall Festivals”. . . just because you change the name you’re still celebrating Halloween. It’s ok. Everyone knows it is Halloween. Just call it Halloween. Heck, who knows, maybe even God likes playing dress-up and begging for candy now and then!
- Texas Tech officials tell Don Williams in the A-J that they’d like a new video board for Jones Stadium in the coming years. Good idea, just make sure you keep the old Double-T scoreboard somewhere around the stadium. It is a landmark and a tradition. I get tired of folks saying Tech has no traditions. We do. We just have a tendency to ignore them or throw them out at times. Keep the Double-T scoreboard!
- Heaven help me, I do enjoy watching Phineas and Ferb with my boy! I’ll admit it, the show is funny. I don’t know if he gets it or not, but he likes it and it sure beats the Wonder Pets.
- Former Texas Tech and Indian basketball coach Bob Knight turned down an invite to Indiana’s Hall of Fame induction ceremony this week and rightfully so. Knight is right that his presence would disrupt things for the other honorees. This one is on Indiana. They knew he wouldn’t come and I suspect some up there wanted to do it this way as a further slap at Knight. Sure, we’ll induct ya and we’ll do it at a time we know you won’t show up and be able to enjoy it. Nice. Not nearly enough time has passed for Indiana to consider this. Wrong people, wrong time.
- Here’s hoping the Texas Tech Red Raider football players are only listening to the Hot Little Girlfriends this week.
