Loser (or Winner) Leaves Town
It has come down to this today: Mike Leach fighting Texas Tech University in court. If he wins the battle, he’ll lose the war. There is no way all the parties involved here can coexist at Texas Tech after today. Smart money is saying today that Texas Tech has more aces up their sleeves as they go to court today against Leach and his attorney. Word is that Tech has kept their powder dry up til this morning and that they waited for Leach’s camp to force their hand to reveal publicly the reasons for the suspension.
Either way, Mike Leach can’t continue as head coach at Tech beyond tomorrow. This has gone way past anything involving Adam James and whatever happened with him in a shed.
This is about power, this is about relationships and the the ability for Leach, Myers, Bailey, Hance and the BOR to get along. It is a lot easier to get a new coach then it is an entire University staff.
We’ll find out more in a few hours, maybe minutes, but if what we are hearing right now is correct, Mike Leach may not survive the day as head coach at Texas Tech. Let the riots begin.
