Friday Show Notes: 7/29/10

Good morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .

A very good read this morning from CBS Sportline‘s Dennis Dodd. I’ve had my issues with Dodd’s agenda driven reporting over the last few years regarding Texas Tech but he shed’s some light on what happened in the Pac-10′s failed bid to land the Big 12 South minus Baylor last month. Pac-10 (12) commissioner Larry Scott gives some great quotes and essentially lays the blame on Texas politics for derailing the plan and also targets Texas officials and “sources” for leaking information to orangebloods.com during those days in an effort to destabilize Nebraska’s move to the Big 10. Well worth reading and we’ll talk about it all tonight on The Show.

We’ll also look at the Rangers pick-up of Jorge Cantu last night as well as preview the upcoming weekend for a team that may or may not be sold by this time next week.

Get ready for your Friday Night Tri-Fecta and True-False quiz as well.

In addition we plan to visit with Chuck Carlton from the Dallas Morning News about Texas A&M’s demands to the Big 12 to show them the money “or else” and what it means for the fragile peace treaty.

More things developing today so it could get really interesting by 3p.m. Get ready to call at 1-866-984-5326.

Hyatt is a husband and a father, a guitar player, a fly-fisherman and a bad golfer. Raised in West Texas and a Texas Tech graduate, he's proud of his diploma; he's just not sure where it is. After 20-years in radio, television, and print Hyatt now finds himself on the internet. He reckons that is a good thing.
