Monday Show Notes: 7/12/10

Good morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .

It is raining again here in the Hubbaplex as we start another week, inching closer to NFL training camps and college football actual action vs. summer topics like hiring trainers, practice turf and white helmets. August can’t get here soon enough . . .

We won’t be on the show today but we do welcome back an old friend in Scott Fitzgerald. He’ll have plenty to talk about with the Rangers’ trade for Cliff Lee as well as the All-Star Break. As we know, baseball is a talkin’ sport, so get on the phone early and give him a call at 1-866-984-5326.

We’ll all be back on the show come Tuesday when we get together again at Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ. As for me today, I’m gonna go re-watch that Jimmy Buffett concert for the gulf from last night on CMT. What a great show. If you missed it, you gotta try and find it when they show it again.

Hyatt is a husband and a father, a guitar player, a fly-fisherman and a bad golfer. Raised in West Texas and a Texas Tech graduate, he's proud of his diploma; he's just not sure where it is. After 20-years in radio, television, and print Hyatt now finds himself on the internet. He reckons that is a good thing.

Tell the truth, Ryno, you’ll really be watching Oprah. I hope your fill-in today is less harsh on LeBron James than those were last week. I don’t get all the vitriol, especially of the Dan Gilbert variety. Ok, LeBron could have done things a little differently, but let us keep things in perspective. He took another job offer, period. That is far less immoral than what many people do. Consider the following scenario and judge which is worse:

Scenario 1: Husband comes home from work and says to wife, “honey, I’ve been offered a job in Miami, what do you think?”

Scenario 2: Husband comes home form work and says to wife, “honey, I’ve been offered a chance to be with a much hotter woman. I’m outta here!”

What LeBron James did was far less treasonous, selfish, and immoral than what dozens of other NBA players do every day.
