Fri. Show Notes: 9/3/10-Live from Nick’s Sports Grill

Good morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .

Finally. Football is back this weekend.

To celebrate we take The Show on the road tonight to 98th and Quaker and the grand opening of Nick’s Sports Grill and Lounge. Newly remodeled and run by Tech grads Nick’s is a non-smoking, upscale sports bar featuring 24+ HD Big Screens, cold, cold beer and great food including personal pizzas made from scratch! We encourage you to try it out tonight and when you do you never have to worry about hearing a certain song played at 98th and Quaker ever again!

On to the show.

Tonight we’ll preview the area H.S. action with George Watson from the A-J as well as talk to SportsRadio 1430 The Fan’s host of Fan Feedback, Scott Fitzgerald about everything else. Fan Feedback comes your way right after the final gun so be ready to call in and talk about the game Sunday evening on The Fan.

Last night we gave you our score for the game. Texas Tech 45, SMU 20. Tech is always 15 to 20 points better than SMU on talent alone and nothing changes with June Jones in Dallas and Tommy Tuberville in Lubbock. The only question now is how does it happen?

That brings us to today’s Tri-Fecta. Get all three prongs right and you’ll win pizza from Domino’s. (Lubbock delivery only!) You others are playing for pride I guess! So, get your picks in early on the website.

1. Over/Under on Taylor Potts TD passes-3.5 .

2. Batch/Stevens combine for Over/Under 120.5 yards rushing.

3. Tech total points Over/Under 35.5 .

Get your picks in and we’ll see you at Nick’s tonight starting at three. Be sure and call in too at 1-866-984-5326.

Hyatt is a husband and a father, a guitar player, a fly-fisherman and a bad golfer. Raised in West Texas and a Texas Tech graduate, he's proud of his diploma; he's just not sure where it is. After 20-years in radio, television, and print Hyatt now finds himself on the internet. He reckons that is a good thing.
