Saturday Open Date Questions

Good morning West Texans and all you good, fine, friendly folks out there who wish you were . . .

It is a rainy, gray day here on the South Plains. Suits my mood. I hate open dates, particularly this early in the year. I’m just getting into the season, digging into the nitty-gritty of the college landscape and then, bam, nothing. I feel like the little kid that his to sit in time-out while his buddies play. Not fun.

So, in order to help pass the time we’ll throw out a philosophical question for you Tech and college football fans.

I want you to rank in order of importance to you, these qualities of a major college football head coach.

1. Game day decision making skills

2. Organizational skills and staff structure

3. Public relations, alumni relations and marketing

4. Recruiting

5. X’s and O’s

Feel free to expound on any of these areas, how they relate to each other and even add some new categories if you’d like. I’m interested in how you’d build the perfect head coach in today’s college football landscape. Have fun today, enjoy the games on SportsRadio 1340 The Fan and we’ll see you Monday at Rudy’s Country Store and BBQ.

Hyatt is a husband and a father, a guitar player, a fly-fisherman and a bad golfer. Raised in West Texas and a Texas Tech graduate, he's proud of his diploma; he's just not sure where it is. After 20-years in radio, television, and print Hyatt now finds himself on the internet. He reckons that is a good thing.
