Got behind a couple of Road Gummers on campus yesterday. Granted the speed limit on campus is 20 mph, but in the right lane was a golf cart and in the left lane was a bicycle rider (picture a younger version of Miss Gulch from the "Wizard of Oz"). Neither was approaching 20 mph and neither appeared to be in any kinda hurry as traffic backed up behind them.

Then we stopped at a light, and as I had hoped, the bicyclist turned left, as did the two cars behind her. Seizing my opportunity to finally get over into the left hand lane preparatory to a turn at the next stop ahead, I switched lanes only to have the golf cart cut over in front of me.

Well, David, all jr high insults aside, I can pretty much assure you that outside the Hubbaplex, Aggie fans prefer to never play Tech again in anything. As I said, Blair would like for things to continue because Tech is his alma mater, but any other such comment from Aggie coaches is simple response to a question posed by a reporter, and giving the politically correct answer.

As for consequences of not playing Tech, there won't really be any. A&M is moving to a stronger conference (i.e., one that will be around in 5 years) and expects nothing but good to come from it.

And quoting Kim Mulkey? Really?

Hyatt, your premise is wrong.

I'm not mad at aggy for doing what I wanted to Tech to do. I'm mad at aggy for being aggy and don't want Tech to have anything to do with them.

The aggy wanted out, they're out.
Goodbye, and good riddance!
They did what they believed was best for them...good!
Now they can live with the consequences of being shut out of playing their former brethren. Actions have consequences.
When you get a DIVORCE, you don't continue to have marital relations with your ex. Nothing different about this. And if you are one of those who do, that is just plain aggyish.
Play the aggots?....Not only NO, but HELL NO in ANY sport unless it happens in playoffs or a bowl game.

I would like to see rivalry with the Aggies continue, but most likely it is not Tech's decision to make--rather the whorns. Yes, the whorns. Tech will have to play nice with the Evil Empire otherwise miss the Golden Ticket to the PAC 12 whenever the time comes, now that ESPN seems to be paving the way for the LHN to no longer be an impediment to joining.

Hopefully, Tech only needs to pucker just a litle longer. Meanwhile, enjoy the taste and smell.

I don't think it needs to be all-or-nothing, but I don't think it matters. A&M doesn't really care that much about playing Tech. Gary Blair does, because Tech is his alma mater, but the rest of the Aggies don't much care one way or the other, and many would prefer to never play Tech again (playing Texas again is another matter).

It is true that it's a bit hypocritical for Tech admin and fans to condemn A&M for doing something that Tech tried to do itself, but I don't think the Big12 is going to last much longer anyway, so it's really a moot point.
